The following are some frequently asked questions but if you don't find the answers you are looking for, please call your local distributor or Fresh 'n Fit Cuisine headquarters at 678 208 0341 and we shall be delighted to help you.
Where
are the meals prepared? All meals are prepared in our USDA inspected kitchen facility in
Cumming, Georgia, 25 miles north of Atlanta.
Is
Fresh ‘n Fit Cuisine available in other parts of the country? Yes, we have recently launched a shipping
program so meal plans are
now available to consumers beyond our normal distribution areas.
How
should I transport my meals when I pick them up? Always keep your meals in an
insulated bag or cooler with ice packs. Georgia summers are hot, but even in
winter, your car can heat up if windows are closed and the sun is out.
What is the recommended temperature to keep my meals in peak condition at home? 35-40 degrees F. is the recommended temperature, no higher. Your refrigerator should be fine!
Are all your meals made from scratch? Do you use pre-made items? We use pre-made items like pizza crust, pasta, rice, spaghetti, tortillas, crepes, and yoghurts. We also use some ingredients that have been prepared exclusively for us, such as salad dressings and tomato sauce. All other items like our breakfast breads and quiches are prepared from scratch in our kitchens under the watchful eyes of our Executive Chef.
Do you use fresh vegetables? We use fresh vegetables for optimum flavor and nutrients. Sometimes, however, a vegetable being 'out of season' will result in our use of a frozen vegetable. Additionally, frozen spinach and peas are used in some dishes.
Which
plan is right for me, 1200 or 2000 calories per day? Most
often, women select the 1200 calorie plan and men the 2000, but we encourage
you to check with your physician or registered dietitian if you have any doubt
about which is right for you.
Both plans are available for 5 OR 7 days.
Do
you offer counseling?
Our registered Dietitians oversee all food analysis and are available for
nutrition related questions via e mail to dietitian@freshnfitcuisine.com. We do not
offer personal counseling and encourage you to contact your own dietitian or
physician with any dietary or medical questions. All of our 1200 and 2000
calorie plan menu items follow guidelines recommended by the American Heart
Association, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society and the
American Dietetic Association.
Can I add something? I'm on the 1200 calorie program, but
my doctor says I need 1500 calories a day. Sure, you can add items to increase total
calories. Here's a list of healthy
ideas -approximately 100 calories per serving:
|
1. String cheese |
1 piece |
How can I be SURE that there are no trans fats, no artificial colorings, no added preservatives, in the meals I eat? We rigorously check all products and ingredients to ensure they meet our high standards. Our nutritionists and Chef check the content of every ingredient that comes into our kitchen. It is one of the most important functions of our kitchen production. We review our products and ingredients frequently to ensure that no changes have been made by the manufacturers to the nutritional content of the items.
Do
you serve any meats that are ‘cured’ with Sodium
Nitrite? No.
Doctors and nutritionists recommend that all food ingredients known to promote
cancer, such as sodium nitrite and other chemical additives, are avoided. Fresh
‘n Fit Cuisine exclude ingredients which contain nitrites.
What about allergens? All meals are cooked and assembled in a kitchen that uses shell-fish, tree-nuts, fish, milk, wheat, eggs, soy and peanuts. Allergic reactions to food can be deadly so we do NOT recommend our meal plan to anybody who may suffer from allergic reactions to any ingredient listed above.
How are the meals assembled? All our meals are prepared by hand and put into containers by hand. The containers are then fed through our heat sealing packing machines and labeled. If meals vary slightly from one to another it is because they have been assembled by hand.
Can I mix them up, eat Monday's lunch on Tuesday or Thursday's dinner on Friday? Sure, meal switching is fine, but meals with fresh fruit or fish should always be eaten first. All meals should be eaten before you receive the next half week of meals.
If I
don't eat a lot of meat, is Fresh 'n Fit Cuisine right for me? Check our menus to make sure.
While lean beef, turkey, chicken, fish and shellfish are included in our meals,
we do serve many vegetarian meals too.
If I
don’t like fish, is there an option for me? Yes,
while fish is very good for you, we understand that many people don’t much care
for it so we offer a ‘No Seafood’ plan.
All other meals are the same as our regular plan, but the ‘seafood’
meals are replaced with non-seafood meals.
What beverages are recommended with this diet? Your best bet is H20! Health and nutrition professionals say that 8- 10 eight ounce glasses (or more) of water every day is what your body needs.
What about a glass of wine or beer? Sure, but they contain calories. Keep it to a glass of red or white wine, one light beer or one ounce of liquor each day.
How do I find my local distributor in Atlanta? Click on the ‘locations’ page on
the Home Page top menu bar and enter your zip code in the space provided. The name and address of your nearest
distributor will show up at the top of the list.
Do you deliver? Delivery is offered twice a week, but some distributors may limit delivery area. Contact your distributor regarding the time and cost of delivery to your home or office.
Am I allowed to cancel an order? Your distributor will do everything possible to help when a problem arises, but please understand that you have ordered fresh, made-to-order meals. Our kitchens will have placed orders for fresh vegetables, meat and fruits with our suppliers and your distributor must pay headquarters for these orders.
What if I can't get to my distributor during pick up hours? Your distributor is there to help. If you're stuck in traffic or see a potential delay developing, call your distributor to make other arrangements.
Weight
loss is my main focus, how can I shed pounds quickly? Real weight loss is achieved by
'burning off' more calories than you take in (barring an abnormal medical
condition). You WILL lose weight on the Fresh 'n Fit 1200 calorie plan but the
more active and busy your lifestyle, the quicker your results will be. Exercise is the very best way to speed
up calorie consumption.
After
losing weight with Fresh 'n Fit Cuisine, how do I maintain my new weight? We recommend the 5 day plan as a 'maintenance' program.
You'll continue to eat the correct portion size and a balanced diet Monday to
Friday but have the freedom to 'do your own thing' at the weekends.
If weight loss is not my goal, is Fresh 'n Fit Cuisine still appropriate for me? Many of our customers choose Fresh 'n Fit because it's an easy, affordable and guaranteed way to 'eat healthy.' Many customers just love the convenience of 'ready to eat' healthy meals. However, if you don't want to lose weight, you’ll need to add some calories.
Just make
healthy choices using the ‘100 calorie snack’ ideas above.
If you have additional
questions, just call your local distributor or
